Course Overview

This course is designed for students who are 19+ who have achieved a full diploma in Level 2 Hairdressing. Once completed the hairdresser will be able to perform more technical service with skilled techniques and have knowledge to tackle problems.

The course consists of theory and practical work. The student will need to complete 8 units.
The course covers all aspects of advanced cutting, styling and colouring, including some aspects of colour correction. You will have the opportunity to produce and take part in a Catwalk show / competition.

Course information

1 year

A combination of Tutor led demonstrations, student participation & practice, theory delivery and commercial salon that will led on to formative & summative assessments.

You will be given the opportunity to work on real clients in the commercial salons. Theory will be assessed with online tests throughout the course. There will be some home study on this course. Customer service skills and practical skills will be developed with the work experience opportunities in the commercial salons at the college.

Level 3 CG Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing

Learners are enrolled onto an additional ‘College Commercial Salon Certificate’ which reflects 8 weeks of Commercial Salon experience. This is completed within the College Salons under Tutor guidance. This provides a simulation of a real Salon environment & provides experience with clients to help build confidence within the chosen pathway.

Apprenticeship or career in the Hairdressing industry.

Level 3

A Kit & Unifrom must be purchased within 6 weeks of enrolling for the course. Details of the Kit & Uniform are handed out during the enrollment process. Bursaries are available for those who are eligible – subject to individual assessment.
