This is a part time course, you will be required to attend college and a practical placement once a week for the duration of the course. The placement coordinator will support learners in locating a suitable placement for the course. Learners must be supporting in a year 1 class or higher and ideally have or be prepared to gain a minimum of level 2 in maths and English.
A Disclosure Barring Service check will be required.

To achieve the Diploma the learner must complete 16 mandatory units. It will be internally assessed using a range of methods which will include direct observation in the work place, professional discussion, written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams.

This qualification provides you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work in a variety of unsupervised job roles that support children and young people’s learning in schools or colleges. Roles this qualification will prepare you for include:
