Growing Strong: Term One Apprenticeship Update
Welcome back to Slough & Langley College! After a well-deserved festive break, apprentices are returning with fresh energy and focus for the second term. This is a pivotal stage in the apprenticeship journey — a time to consolidate the knowledge gained in Term One, deepen practical skills, and start applying learning in real-world scenarios.
Returning apprentices will continue to strengthen their confidence and demonstrate their growing expertise in the workplace, while new starters joining this term will begin their journey with apprenticeships. A huge thank you to all our employer partners for your ongoing support. Your guidance and mentorship remain vital in helping apprentices thrive and progress toward successful careers. Together, we’re shaping the next generation of skilled professionals.
Spotlight on Kornelia:
Kornelia has just finished her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship and has gone on to stay with her employer in their marketing team.
“Completing my Business Administration apprenticeship has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career so far. Achieving a Distinction overall was the perfect ending to a journey that has genuinely helped me grow – both personally and professionally. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with a team who supported me every step of the way, along with a fantastic skills coach who pushed me to develop confidence and new abilities.”
Business Administration:
Last term was an exciting and productive time for our Business Administration apprentices, filled with milestones and growth. One learner successfully completed their End-Point Assessment and achieved a distinction, a fantastic accomplishment that reflects their hard work and commitment. Another apprentice was proudly recognised as Apprentice of the Month in November, showcasing the dedication and professionalism that make our learners stand out.
Beyond these individual successes, the focus this term will be reinforcing professional standards in the workplace and developing advanced communication skills. Apprentices will be engaging in practical exercises to improve clarity, confidence, and adaptability in real-world business settings. These skills are essential for thriving in administrative roles and ensuring that learners are not only meeting expectations but exceeding them.
We’re proud to see our apprentices growing into capable, confident professionals who are ready to make a meaningful impact in their organisations. Their achievements highlight the strength of our apprenticeship programmes and the invaluable support provided by employers and mentors.

We are proud to be working with Microsoft, a global leader in technology, to create exciting opportunities for local talent. This partnership represents a shared commitment to building future-ready skills, inspiring students, and connecting education with real-world careers in one of the fastest-growing sectors.
Hear from the employer:
“Last year we shared an incredible day at Slough & Langley College, speaking to around 70 students about careers in datacentres and announced two apprenticeship opportunities in our Datacentre Operations team. Fast forward – those opportunities turned into success stories! We successfully recruited two talented students from that session at Slough & Langley College, who joined us as apprentices and have thrived in their roles. Their achievements show the impact of connecting education with industry.
This partnership is a perfect example of how we deliver on our community pledge commitments – fostering strong relationships with local colleges and vocational schools to fulfil the Datacenter Academy mission: creating pathways for local talent and building skills for the future.”
