On Tuesday, there was a real buzz around the Foundation department as students took part in an exciting and inspiring Skills Day.
Designed to boost confidence, careers knowledge, spark curiosity and further develop employability skills, the day featured interactive workshops delivered by leading organisations including British Airways, Ways Into Work, Barclays Bank, Thames Valley Police, and Absolutely Together.
Each session gave students a unique insight into different industries, career pathways and the key employability skills needed to succeed in the workplace. From exploring opportunities in aviation and public services to learning about community roles and employment support, students gained first-hand knowledge from professionals working in the field. Students asked thoughtful questions, took part in engaging activities, and discovered the many routes available to them after college.
Throughout the day, the focus was on building confidence, communication skills, teamwork and understanding employer expectations. Students rose to the challenge brilliantly, showing enthusiasm, curiosity, and a real commitment to developing their prospects.
A huge thank you to all the participating organisations for delivering such motivating and informative sessions, and well done to our Foundation Learning students for making the most of every opportunity!
