Computing and Game Design Interview Process

Level 2 and 3 BTEC Qualifications in IT

Computing and IT Level 2: Our courses are  designed to let learners study a wide range of latest IT technologies and introduce them to concepts like Programming, Networking and Cybersecurity. Assessment is a combination of exams and coursework.

Computing and IT Level 3: This course blends the academic knowledge of A-levels with hands-on experience of an apprenticeship through an extended work placement. The course focuses on technical support and preparing for working in infrastructure and system administration.

Game design: This course introduces the games industry, combining streaming, programming and hardware practical.  The  course is aimed at learners with a passion for the creative side of computing. This course is for those that want hands-on experience with new gaming technologies and prefer assessment through  coursework.

Interviews are 15 minutes long and we will ask you about your interest in the subject and to discuss any practical experience of IT that you have had to date. We will also outline the course plan and entry requirements. A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs. 

Computing and IT: Just bring yourself but be prepared to talk about your goals and  interest in IT. If you have an EHCP, you will also be met by the ALS (Additional Learning Support ) Team to assess your needs.

Game Design: A portfolio (images on your phone are ok) of artwork or games design/creation would be advantageous. If you have an EHCP, you will also be met by the ALS (Additional Learning Support ) Team to assess your needs.

Your interview will be face to face.
