Construction Interview Process

All levels

This qualification is for candidates wishing to gain some understanding and some practical experience of the variety of trades in the Construction industry.  The qualification covers a range of hand-skills and practical tasks in the following trade areas: Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing and Electrical. With a route for progression into Diplomas in a particular trade area.

Learners who wish to start at Level 2 construction, be prepared that you will need to complete a skills test along with some health and safety questions. In addition, we like learners to show an interest in construction providing examples of any previous experience and areas you would like to specialise in.  A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs.

You will need to bring any previous qualifications including English and Maths and ensure you are presentable. For the Taster Day and Skills tes, learners will require steel toe boots and overalls.

Your interview will be face to face.

The course includes trips such as the National Paint Show and    The Plumbing and Heating Exhibition at Chelsea Football Club’s iconic Stamford Bridge stadium as well as many more.
