Course Overview

This course will provide you with the qualification you need to progress to a degree programme at university in a variety of areas leading to careers in Social Work, Policing, Youth Offending, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling and more.

The units cover a wide range of areas and are designed to build on the knowledge and skills needed when working in these areas as well as developing the study skills needed to progress to higher education.

Course information

1 Year

The Diploma consists of a number of mandatory units requiring 60 credits to pass. Many universities are requesting that at least 30 credits are at Distinction grade and 12-15 are at Merit grade.

There are also units which are graded at Pass only. You will be assessed through written reports and essays, presentations, timed tests and assessments, participation in discussion and group tasks.

It would be beneficial to have work experience in social care or volunteering work in an appropriate setting alongside the course, to be able to map experience and reflect on practice.
