Course Overview

This qualification has been designed as a one-year, full-time course that supports learners who have the relevant interest and aptitude to progress in the engineering sector also give learners the potential opportunity to progress to Level 3 Foundation Diploma or an apprenticeship.

The qualification will enable the learners to develop skills in English and mathematics and opportunity to practise these essential skills in naturally occurring and meaningful contexts, where appropriate to the engineering sector.

Engineering covers a broad variety of roles and has a focus on a broad range of engineering specialist areas. This course will give the learner opportunity during practice in developing employability skills and give learners the potential opportunity to progress to employment in a wide range of job roles across the Engineering sector

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for the course are a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English & Maths at a grade 4.

Course information

The course covers four mandatory units which are:

– The Engineered World
– Investigating an Engineered Product
– Interpreting and Using Engineering Information
– Mathematics for Engineering

Plus further range of optional units.

1 Year.

Online sessions, classroom sessions, practical sessions.

2 Units will be assessed by an external exam and marked and graded by Persons. A further units will be assignment based and internally assessed. All units will be graded a pass, merit or distinction by your tutors
